A Personal Note from Marty.  Marty Ginsburg

My dream has always been to see my horses running in rolling green pastures with clear streams and trees. It finally happened! With more than 300 acres, there is ample room to share this paradise with other horses at a reasonable price. The horses are in 60, 80 and 150 acre pastures insuring the freedom to run, play and wander through trees while grazing on natural pasture consisting of several different grasses. After all, isn't that what retirement is all about?

Does three hundred acres of lush green pasture, three creeks, a river, trees, trees and more trees, including apple and pear trees sound too good to be true? It's all here plus more.

This paradise is situated in beautiful southern Oregon just eighty miles north of the California border. The average daytime summer temperatures range from 72 to 85 degrees. Because the ranch is in the banana belt the winters are mild with temperatures ranging into the sixties on a warm day.

The horses are able to graze all year long but are supplemented with hay in the winter. During heavy rains the horses are fed in the shelters.

Some of the well known benefits of grazing natural pasture are:

  • Less colic because of the easy digestibility of the grasses.
  • Teeth need to be floated less often because they are eating seventeen hours a day which keeps the teeth worn down from natural use.
  • Less boredom because the horses are always moving around the pasture grazing.
  • Less trimming because they keep their feet worn down.

All the pastures are a minimum of 60 acres that are in timothy, rye, New Zealand clover, orchard grass and fawn fescue plus others in small amounts.

A 16 stall barn is available for horses that need it and blanket service is available.

During the winter months, though the grass is still green the horses will be supplemented with hay. Because of the continuous presence of the grass, the horses do not become bored.

We will have a special feed program for those horses who have difficulty grazing. This will include ground alfalfa and molasses, rice bran, linseed meal, flax seed and corn oil.
